On Sunday, February 5, there will be a contest, and the contest that really matters is right here! Break out your soup and chili recipes, because we will be having an afternoon fellowship featuring a soup and chili cook-off. Please sign up in the narthex. There are categories for best soup and best chili, and if you would like to bring something without participating in the contest, you can also sign up to bring a dessert. We will have an afternoon service following the fellowship rather than the regular evening service.
If you think your wild game has got game, bring your best dish or dishes to enter our contest (this is how we supply the game for the dinner.) The best venison dish, best fish or fowl dish, and best other wild game dish will each receive a $100 gift card to Cabela’s. Second prize for each category will be a $50 gift card to Cabela’s. Judging is done by voting among the attendees. You may bring more than one entry, but only home-prepared dishes will qualify for prizes. We will also award the same first and second place prizes to the two people who bring the most guests.
Bruce Frye, an exceptional singer-songwriter with a great testimony, will sing and speak for us.
We will also have a few not-so-wild dishes and sides for those who would enjoy the fellowship, music, and message, but prefer their dinner on the tamer side.
To sign up or ask questions, please contact the church at (734) 426-4915.
Everyone is welcome to experience and share the bounties of nature at our free evangelistic wild game dinner and contest!
Summer is coming, and that means teen summer camp! We’re planning to return to Northland for summer camp July 17-22. Northland features a 90′ water slide, a 35′ climbing wall, a zipline, paintball, some terrific fishing, and much more. The speaker for the week is Jim Tillotson, president of Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary. The cost will be $295 for the first teen from each family and $225 for teens after that. Camp is available for youth going into 7th grade and up. For more information, see Pastor Dan. If you are interested in sponsoring a teen who would like to go but may not have the funds, please also see Pastor Dan.
We’re excited about having the Pardine family with us this week! The Pardines are veteran missionaries to Peru who met on the mission field and continue to serve together. Casandra will also speak for the ladies meeting this Thursday night, August 3.
