The Ladies Group will be making Christmas cookie boxes for our elderly and shut ins. If you’d like to donate 2 dozen cookies from your kitchen or grocer’s cookie aisle, please have them at the church by Dec 6 or bring them to our Ladies Meeting/Christmas Party at Karin Rettig’s house on Dec 7. Ladies attending the meeting, please bring a gift of $5 or thereabouts for the gift exchange. See Karin or Wenonah for more info. Thank you!
Our production of Harold the King will be next Sunday, December 10, during the morning service. We will have a dinner on the grounds and an afternoon service that day. This lightly-humorous musical play presents an excellent opportunity to invite the unsaved or unchurched to hear the gospel. Please be praying that the Lord would work to His glory through this production. Everyone is asked to bring a main dish or side dish. If your last name starts with A-M, please bring a dessert in addition to your main or side dish. That is two dishes if your last name begins with A-M. The church will provide the ham, rolls, and the drink. There is a sign up sheet in the narthex.
After the morning service we will be having a taco luncheon. The church is providing food, so there is no need to bring main courses, but there will be a donation basket to help cover the cost if you are able. Following the luncheon, we will have an afternoon service instead of our regular evening service.
Join us in fellowship for Game Night at the church!
We’re excited about having the Pardine family with us this week! The Pardines are veteran missionaries to Peru who met on the mission field and continue to serve together. Casandra will also speak for the ladies meeting this Thursday night, August 3.
Engineer? Racer? Design and decoration? Teens, come take your shot at one or all of these as we head down to Ohio for the annual Couch Potato Derby on Saturday, August 12. This all-day youth activity will include the building, decorating, and racing of a car made from furniture and bike parts; preaching for teens; and meals. The cost is $8 per person, and we will meet at the church at 8:00 AM. Please notify the Scilzos or Pastor Dan if you plan to attend.
Summer is coming, and that means teen summer camp! We’re planning to return to Northland for summer camp July 17-22. Northland features a 90′ water slide, a 35′ climbing wall, a zipline, paintball, some terrific fishing, and much more. The speaker for the week is Jim Tillotson, president of Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary. The cost will be $295 for the first teen from each family and $225 for teens after that. Camp is available for youth going into 7th grade and up. For more information, see Pastor Dan. If you are interested in sponsoring a teen who would like to go but may not have the funds, please also see Pastor Dan.
