You and everyone you know are invited to Dexter Gospel Church’s 9th annual Wild Beast Feast!
The Wild Beast Feast will be held on March 10, 2023, at 6:30 PM here at Dexter Gospel Church, at 2253 Baker Road in Dexter, MI.
While no one has to bring anything in order to attend this dinner, if you like to cook wild game for others to enjoy, this is your chance. The Wild Beast Feast is a contest, and if you’d like to compete, feel free to bring a dish to share. We have three categories to enter: Venison, Sea & Sky, and Exotics. (Exotics are creatures that aren’t your standard grocery-store fare, but don’t fit into the other two categories. These would be animals such as moose, rabbits, or squirrels. For the first time, this category is also open to foraging dishes, featuring ingredients like morel mushrooms or mulberries.)
Attendees will vote on their favorite dishes from each category. Each category will receive a $100 gift card to Cabela’s for 1st place and a $50 gift card to Cabela’s for 2nd place.
In order to compete, all dishes must be home prepared.
Along with our usual incredible spread of wild game dishes, we’ll also have some “tame” food options for those who would enjoy the camaraderie but don’t enjoy wild game.
Our guest speaker this year is Micah Self. Micah Self is an international evangelist who has ministered in 12 countries and 45 states. He is currently raising support to help the malnourished and unreached of the 10/40 window.
Everyone who attends and stays to the end will be entered in our door prize drawing. We have door prizes like locally-produced maple syrup and paintings by local artist Karin Rettig.
If you are planning to attend, please register as soon as possible, so we know how many to prepare for. Please also register any dishes you plan to bring, so we are adequately prepared for those too.
This event is completely free to attend, and anyone can bring a dish and enter the contest. We will accept donations, but we do not expect them.
